PUNK ELEVATED! OI!

I am just mad for my latest arm candy (and no, this one doesn’t come with a holiday house in the Caribbean). Edgy, sexy and well polished, I really think I’m in love this time. My Hermès Medor watch has it all. As both a bracelet and a timepiece, I can be chic and punctual – two qualities that could’ve really worked in my favor during those fashionably late, unfashionably dressed years at uni. Of couse, now that I’ve rid myself of such wretched qualities, I can rest assured that I’ll be looking utterly fab and arriving precisely on time to Georgina’s much awaited garden party in Hampstead next week.

NOT OUR GRANDMOTHER’S JEWELS

One of our earliest fashion memories involves parading around our grandmother’s house wearing a Minnie Mouse bathing suit and every piece of Miriam Haskell jewelry she owned. Sadly, she still won’t let us wear any of these baubles out of her house, as she knows perfectly well that she won’t get them back. But now that the venerable costume jewelry brand has launched a brand new line with our favorite vintage boutique, Decades, we’re able to start a collection of our own. At the top of our holiday gift list are the Madison necklace, the Broadway bracelet and the El Dorado earrings — all made from vintage gold elements, Swarovski crystals and glass pearls. Though they certainly aren’t the priciest gems in our arsenal, we won’t be lending these lovelies out to anyone — clearly, grandmother has taught us well.

Ladylike-TechieLately, our charity board meetings have started to look a little bit like mission control, with all of the girls tap-tap-tapping away on their iPads the whole time. So that’s why we’ve snagged one of these brilliant Rebecca Minkoff cases for this year’s White Elephant party. It’s got all the makings of a crowd pleaser –it’s pink, has tassels, and it’s ostrich (faux, of course). And if, perchance, it happens to go to one of the few technologically-challenged philanthropists in our group, it can just as easily double as an oversized clutch. Don’t tell anyone, but we’re even considering rigging the game in order to get our own gift back…

Make a Statement!

It’s no secret that we like to indulge — in our world, there’s no such thing as “too much,” whether we’re talking about our number of yearly trips to Mexico, our Sunday brunch mimosa intake, or our collection of Chanel nail polishes. So when we discovered jewelry designer Joomi Lim’s “Mixography” collection, we felt like we’d come home. Each piece is a madcap study in maximalism — vintage rhinestone necklaces are layered with neon fringe, brass and steel spikes, ribbons and more to create one-of-a-kind pieces that can only be described as ridiculous (in the best possible way). Wearing one is akin to having an Ibizan beach party slung around your neck — yet another thing we can’t get enough of.

COCO ROCHA JEWELRY LINE TO HELP VICTIMS OF EXPLOITATION

The day before supermodel Coco Rocha walked down the aisle, she was gifted a special bracelet, made by the young women of Senhoa, an organization dedicated to providing opportunities for Cambodian survivors of human trafficking. Today, Rocha proudly supports the cause by launching a jewelry line, Coco Rocha for Senhoa.

Coco Rocha Jewelry

The collection, designed by Rocha and hand-made at Senhoa, features two pairs of earrings, two bracelets, one necklace and two body pieces—each beaded with clear, black and multicoloredSwarovski Elements. The pieces retail from $60 to $195.

Senhoa means lotus flower in Vietnamese. On the Senhoa website, it is explained that this flower “grows in muddy water and rises above the surface to bloom with breathtaking beauty, untouched by its impure surroundings.”

Top models ImanCaroline Trentini and Behati Prinsloo joined the campaign to help Rocha raise awareness. Rocha reminds us to “Accessorize your conscience”—and that is exactly what you can do by purchasing a Senhoa piece online at Senhoa.
